Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care

Our new NCFE Accredited Level 3 Diploma in Adult Care offers learners the opportunity to further their study within the field of health and social care. Learners completing this qualification will enhance a number of key skills in areas such as duty of care, safeguarding and person-centred care, enabling them to take on additional workplace responsibilities.

Course Contents

During the course of study of learners will complete the following, high-value units:

  • Promote communication in care settings
  • Handling information in adult care
  • Promote own continuous personal and professional development
  • Person-centred practice, choice and independence
  • Understand how to promote personal wellbeing
  • Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and human rights in care settings
  • Promote health and safety in care settings
  • Support the health and wellbeing of individuals in a care setting
  • Scope and responsibilities of an adult care worker
  • Understand duty of care
  • Understand how to safeguard individuals
  • Understand mental capacity and restrictive practices
  • Infection prevention and control in a care setting

Duration

This course lasts for a total of 7 months.

Cost

This qualification is fully-funded by the Tees Valley Combined Authority, meaning there is no cost to the learner or employer (subject to eligibility).

Assessment

This course is workbook focused, with additional tutor support provided throughout. Learners completing this qualification will also be required to complete an observation of practices within the workplace.

Delivery

Learners will attend regular sessions with their tutor (online or face to face, depending on preference). During these sessions tutors will support the learner to gather the evidence needed to attain the qualification, giving in depth information and guidance where necessary.

We find that personalised regular contact ensures a good working relationship with between the learner and tutor, helping to maintain our excellent attainment levels.

Progression

This course is the perfect step towards completing a higher level Health & Social Care apprenticeship.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this fully-funded qualification you must satisfy the following funding requirements:

  • Earn no more than £33,210 per year
  • Live within the Tees Valley/Darlington Area
  • UK Resident, or have proof that you have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
  • 24+ years old
  • Not currently studying on any other funded course/programme
