Jenni Pearson-Butterfield (North East Service Director, Creative Support)

“Creative Support has been collaborating with Vision Training North East for the past three years to support one of our services in Middlesbrough. This service has a team of 21 staff members, and in 2022, only 5 had a social care qualification. Despite efforts to encourage the team to sign up for and work towards their health and social care qualifications, we encountered resistance due to concerns about returning to learning and time constraints from busy lives. Creative Support discussed these challenges with Vision Training North East, who responded by offering smaller cohorts to ease the process and ensure the team wasn’t overwhelmed.

“Over the past three years, many staff members have completed their qualifications and taken pride in their achievements. As some staff finished, others became motivated to start their own qualifications. Currently, 14 staff members have completed a health and social care qualification, 3 are working towards it, and 4 new staff members will be completing theirs in due time. Additionally, members of the management team have volunteered to pursue Level 4 qualifications with Vision Training North East.

“Vision Training North East takes a learner-centered approach, considering individual learning styles, needs, and work-life balance. Their tutors are supportive and approachable, and they communicate any concerns with Creative Support to ensure a comprehensive and effective approach in helping learners succeed.”
