It is predicted that each year 1 in 4 people will experience a mental health problem of some kind. With this in mind, it is more important than ever to gain an in-depth understating of a wide range of mental health issues. Our new Certificate in Understanding Mental Health Level 3 gives learners the skills and knowledge necessary to work with and support those with mental health problems, helping them to excel in a variety of care settings.
This qualification is the perfect next step for those who have completed our Certificate in Awareness of Mental Health Problems Level 2, and individuals who want to further their understanding of a range of mental health issues.
Course Contents
During the course of study of learners will complete the following, high-value units:
- Understanding the context of mental health and wellbeing
- Promotion of mental health and wellbeing
- Mental health problems: associated issues and consequences
- Understanding mental ill health
- Working in mental health
Duration
This course lasts for a total of 12 weeks.
Cost
This qualification is fully-funded, meaning there is no cost to the learner or employer (subject to eligibility).
Delivery
This qualification is delivered remotely. Once enrolled learners will be required to complete a series of interactive workbooks.
Throughout the qualification learners will receive additional support and guidance during remote visits with their tutor. We find this personalised regular contact ensures a good working relationship with between the learner and tutor, helping to maintain our excellent attainment levels.
Progression
This course is the perfect first step towards completing a relevant Health & Social Care apprenticeship.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this fully-funded qualification you must satisfy the following funding requirements:
- Earn no more than £33,210 per year
- Live within the Tees Valley/Darlington Area
- UK Resident, or have proof that you have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- 24+ years old
- Not currently studying on any other funded course/programme
