Our accredited Understanding the Safe Use of Medication Level 2 qualification equips the learner with extensive medication knowledge, putting them perfect position to further their career in the care industry.
On completion, learners will develop an understanding of the responsibilities and the procedures they should follow when handling medicines.
Course Contents
During the course of study of learners will complete the following, high-value units:
- Understand medication and prescriptions,
- Supply, storage and disposal of medication
- Understand the requirements for the safe administration of medication
- Record-keeping and audit processes for medication
Please note: The content of this qualification can be adapted to enable employers registered with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to comply with their requirements.
Duration
This course lasts for a total of 8 weeks.
Cost
This qualification is fully-funded, meaning there is no cost to the learner or employer (subject to eligibility).
Assessment
This course is workbook focused, with additional tutor support provided throughout.
Delivery
Learners will attend regular sessions with their tutor (online or face to face, depending on preference). During these sessions tutors will support the learner to gather the evidence needed to attain the qualification, giving in depth information and guidance where necessary.
We find this personalised regular contact ensures a good working relationship with between the learner and tutor, helping to maintain our excellent attainment levels.
Progression
This course is the perfect first step towards completing a relevant Health & Social Care apprenticeship.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this fully-funded qualification you must satisfy the following funding requirements:
- Earn no more than £33,210 per year
- Live within the Tees Valley Area
- UK Resident, or have proof that you have lived in the UK for at least 3 years
- 19+ years old
- Not currently studying on any other funded course/programme
