Leader in Adult Care Level 5

The Leader in Adult Care Level 5 apprenticeship helps to prepare individuals for roles as leaders within domiciliary, community and other adult care settings. Learners will gain skills to help them to ensure that their service is safe, responsive to people’s needs, effective and well-led.

Course Contents

During the course of study of learners will be expected to complete the following modules, alongside a number of other high value units:

  • Personal and Professional Development in Care Settings
  • Equality and Diversity in Care Settings
  • Understand Safeguarding and Protection in Care Settings
  • Person-Centred Assessment and Planning to Improve Individual Outcomes
  • Understanding Personalisation in Care and Support Services
  • Health and Safety in Care Settings
  • Professional Practice in Adult Care
  • Develop, Maintain and Use Records and Reports
  • Partnership Working in Care Settings
  • Safeguard Children and Young People who are Present in Care Settings
  • Functional Skills Mathematics & English (Optional)

Assessment

The Leader in Adult Care Level 5 apprenticeship is assessed through the completion of learner modules, projects and an End Point Assessment (this includes an observation of leadership and a professional discussion).

Candidates will be supplied with:

  • Course Workbook
  • Hand‐outs
  • Research Guidance
  • A dedicated knowledgeable tutor

Learners will need to attend regular sessions with their tutor, where information and guidance will be given, targets set and evaluated and assessment of evidence gathered by the learner will take place, we find this personalised regular contact ensures a good working relationship with between the learner and tutor and helps maintain our excellent attainment levels.
