Emma currently works as a care professional at Home Instead. Within the past 2 years, she has completed the Level 2 Adult Care Worker Apprenticeship, gaining a Distinction grading.
Emma’s journey within the care sector began in 2022. Before starting her qualification, Emma wanted to get some experience in care to make sure it was the correct career for her. She decided that a good first step would be to learn the ropes by working in the community care sector, providing support to the elderly. Emma quickly realised that this was a brilliant decision, as she loved working in the community with the service users.
During her study for her apprenticeship, Emma chose two main areas to develop her knowledge and skills, Dementia and End of Life. These units proved extremely useful to her role, as she has been able to recognise different types of dementia and has found different ways to communicate with the service users.
Emma said her tutor Cath was a fantastic support throughout her qualification journey, arranging the sessions to suit Emma’s work life balance.
Emma said she would recommend Vision Training to others wanting to complete a care qualification, and is looking forward to enrolling onto a level 3 apprenticeship in the future.
