Level 2 Award in End of Life Care

 Caring for and supporting people approaching the end of their life is the most challenging and yet also the most rewarding work any health and social care worker faces.  Good palliative and end of life care, provided by multi‐professional teams, is essential in the care sector, it needs to be personalised to the needs of the individual and those close to them and it requires a well trained workforce who are competent and confident to deliver effective support.

This qualification will enable those working, or intending to work, in the health and social care sector to develop their under‐ standing of the issues that need to be considered when administering end of life care ensuring that individuals are treated with respect and dignity.

Who is it for?

This course is suitable for any person who works in health and social care who wants a better understanding of end of life care in any care setting, especially those working with people who are reaching the end of their lives, this could be care workers, managers, nurses ……    It will enable learners to effectively contribute to the planning, delivery and evaluation of activities, be they group or individual, helping to ensure that the holistic needs of individuals who use your services are met.

These resources will assist the learner by guiding their learning and supporting them to gather the necessary evidence to attain this level 2 qualification.

Learners will need to attend regular sessions with their assessor, where information and guidance will be given, targets set and evaluated and assessment of evidence gathered by the learner will take place, we find this personalised regular contact ensures a good working relationship with between the learner and assessor and helps maintain our excellent attainment levels.
