Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration (Level 3)

Business Administration Apprenticeship at level 3 is a great way for you to progress your career into a supervisory or more senior role.  This apprenticeship supports a variety of administration job roles in any industry e.g. executive assistants, secretaries and administration assistants.

The course will teach you about business, administration and finance, as well as enabling you to prove your competency at a higher level and assist you to achieve your career goals.

The employer-endorsed content is up-to-date and relevant, reflecting the blend of business knowledge, practical skills, communication and team-building skills needed by someone who is thinking about or has a career in any business-related job.

VTNE currently supplies business administration at levels 2 and 3

This course consists of six mandatory units and a range of optional units, to give a minimum of 58 credits in total.  Delivery will consist of class-based and work based learning.  The mandatory units are:

  • Communicate in a business environment

  • Principles of business communication and information

  • Principles of administration

  • Principles of business

  • Manage personal and professional development

  • Understand employer organisations

You then select the optional units to suit your specific job role, which may include:

  • Contributing to the improvement of business performance

  • Document production

  • Co-ordinating an event / meetings

  • Evaluating and maintain customer service

  • Managing information and data

As part of the apprenticeship framework you are required to complete Functional Skills in English, Maths and ICT at Level 2 unless exemptions are provided.

Entry Requirements:

To study this qualification with Vision Training you need to be working in an administrative role, dealing with a range of tasks and with a level of autonomy.

Our tutors will support you to understand how to develop your knowledge and practical skills to a supervisory level for effective business administration in any industry, learning how to effectively provide administrative duties for an organisation, how to manage personal development, understand effective business communications and the principles of business administration. You will be able to select optional units tailored to your job role.


  • a higher level apprenticeship in a relevant area
  • University study such as BA (Hons) Business Enterprise Management
  • University study in a business administration related degree programme.
