This unit helps you to investigate the knowledge and skills that are  required for you to promote good practice within the workplace in relation to the recording, storing and sharing of information.

The unit looks at the key legislation relating to the recording, storing and sharing of information, including how to access support for difficult situations, the actions to take when faced with dilemmas and the importance of maintaining records that are up to date, accurate, complete and legible.

This unit is divided into three learning outcomes:

  1. Understand the need for secure handling of information in health and social care settings
  2. Know how to access support for handling information
  3. Be able to handle information in accordance with agreed ways of working.
